How much does a trip to Morocco actually cost?
Your daily spend depends on accommodation, route, travel style, group size and season. The calculator above applies a visible low and high planning assumption to each category, then multiplies those assumptions by travellers and days. It is a starting worksheet, not a promise of what any trip will cost.
Accommodation and private transport usually create the largest swings. Before treating the total as a budget, replace each category with current quotes for your dates and add a contingency for changes, card fees and unplanned transport.
Cash, cards, and the closed currency
Payment acceptance varies by business and location, so carry a card plus a manageable amount of cash rather than assuming either method will work everywhere. Use bank ATMs or other clearly identified services, protect your PIN, and keep smaller notes for low-value purchases.
For currency exchange, use a bank or exchange operator authorised by Morocco's Office des Changes and keep the transaction receipt. Tipping in Morocco
Tipping (pourboire) is discretionary and practices vary by venue and service. Check whether service is included, ask your accommodation about current local practice if unsure, and decide an amount that reflects the service received. Keeping a few small notes can make discretionary tips easier.
Haggling — where it applies and where it doesn't
Some souk sellers and private services negotiate prices; displayed-price shops, official transport channels and restaurant menus generally do not. There is no reliable universal discount percentage. Ask whether a price is fixed, compare like-for-like offers, and confirm the total and inclusions before accepting a product or service.
